Rylie Brown Amazed the Judges with this cover
in the 2013 Nashville Spotlight Music Contest!
Rylie Brown , who will be 16 in just a few short months has already accomplished quite a bit in her singing career. Her first big contest was back in 2008 when she was just 10 years old. She was named a top 6 finalist in the year long Miley Cyrus “Are You A Superstar” contest. Rylie got to meet Miley and hang out backstage at her concert and during that time realized being an artist is what she wanted to do with her life so she looked for her next opportunity where she entered the Next Big Singing Sensation. She made the final 9 nationwide and had the opportunity to open up for Hot Chelle Rae and JLS at Six Flags St. Louis as part of the contest.
The summer of 2011 gave Rylie her first offical live audition. She was flown out to LA where she auditioned for a spot on the T.V. show Majors and Minors. Rylie was named as one of the offical 19 finalist out of 40,000 kids and had the chance to perform in front of some of the most influental people in the music industry.
In March of 2012 Rylie auditioned for the X Factor and made it to the live auditions. This was her biggest moment when she had the chance to sing in front of Demi, Britney, LA Reid and Louis Walsh (Simon was sick) and hearing 3 yes’s you’re going to bootcamp.
In the fall of 2012 Rylie entered the Kidz Star USA competition where she was chosen as a top 8 finalist out of 50,000 kids to be flown out to Hollywood to compete for a recording contract with RCA Records. Rylie got the chance to meet Gavin DeGraw who was a mentor for the finalists and the highlight for her was when she sang Gavin’s song Not Over You in front of him. Rylie ended up as a top 3 finalist and came home with 7 really great new friends

Rylie found the love for singing and performing at 4 years old while traveling the state with her mother who was Mrs. Missouri America 2001. Mrs. Brown recalled, ”One day Rylie was intrigued by the microphone I would use to speak and asked if she could talk. I asked her to sing a song for everyone instead so Rylie chose to sing BINGO and was an instant hit. I watched her eyes light up after the audience started to applaud and something clicked inside her that day. From that day forward she sang at every one of my appearances.”
Being raised in Lee’s Summit, MO, there are very few outlets for performance opportunities. With love for the stage, she decided to follow in the footsteps of her mom and entered the Miss Missouri Coed pageant in 2005. She won People’s Choice as well as the Talent portion of the contest. It qualified her to go to Nationals where she placed 2nd in talent. She loved singing on stage in front of big audiences so much that she entered Jr. Miss Missouri Princess. Not only did she win the title, she also won Talent in her age group and Overall Talent with a perfect score. She caught the eye of emcee Doug Gabriel who invited Rylie to sing on his show at the Jim Stafford Theatre in Branson Missouri. Since then Rylie has gone on to win the title of Miss Kansas Preteen National Teenager 2008 and has also gone on to perform at The Mansion Theater and the Tri Lakes Theatre in Branson . Rylie says, “Pageants gave me a stage to perform and gave me a way to get my name out there. I am thankful for the opportunities it gave me and the people I met!”

Kayla Nettles loves horses, her little brother, the Florida coast and singing. Maybe in that order? Since she was old enough to form the sentence” I want to sing”, she has. She started as a very young child in her hometown of Titusville Fl., where she would often sing on stage with her musician father,
When she was a few years older, she started taking voice lessons. It was obvious that this little girl had something special. So she started entering (and winning) contests and performing all over the country.
At 13, Kayla’s family moved to Nashville TN so she could pursue her dream of becoming a country music singer. It didn’t take long for her to acclimate to the town. And within a year she was a regular on a local Television show, Nashville Spotlight, produced by Mike Jennings, and recording regularly for songwriters in the studio. She even caught the attention of world renowned vocal coach, Brett Manning.
At 16 Kayla made it all the way to Hollywood with American Idol. To most of us this seems like a big accomplishment but to her,not making it to the top 10 was a giant let down. She really wanted to go all the way.So, she came back to Nashville and got back to work.
She now has her own CDwhich is brilliantly produced and written by some of Nashville’s best. Kayla has a chance to once again to make her dream come true. The music has been recorded. Now, we have to have it put onto CD and mass produced.
We would also like to give Kayla a CD release party for Kayla on her 18th birthdayJuly 26, at a popular Nashville venue and we want all of you to be part of it. And it won’t take much for that to happen. With just a $10 investment you can download the entire album and we are going to put you on the guest list!!!
Even $5 is a big help. And we didn't have room to put this as an official "PERK" but $5 donations get a free download song and a big Thank you shoutout on KSBT radio!
This is what we are hoping to raise...
CD's and cases $2000.00
Venue- $1500
Band- $1500
Total $5000.00
But whatever we get will be greatly appreciated. If we go over our targeted amount. We can get the soft jewel cases for the cd which are better for shipping. We will also put any extra funds towards Kayla's upcoming tour which is scheduled for Sept. of this year.
If you can’t give any monetary amount, we are still open to your good wishes and positive thoughts. This is a highly competitive field and we can’t get enough good people wishing us well. You can also spread the word by sharing the link to this page. Please watch the videso, listen to the music and enjoy! Thank you so much. We appreciate you every single one of you.
Blessings to you all,
Kayla & Friends
